POLITICS VS. FOOTBALL...

Politics or Football... Which is the lesser of two evils? Let's together try to figure it out. My sweet Isaac has a slight problem. He is totally consumed by the world of politics. Maybe I am being a little harsh... maybe not... you can be the judge. This is how a typical day goes in the Kelley household. Ike wakes up and immediately turns the t.v. to the 24 hour news stations... this is where he gets his morning fix of the world of politics and catches up on over night events. After a while I put a stop to this and make him change the channel. No problem... he then just TIVO's the program that he was watching. He then gets on the computer where he continues his quest for knowledge. We then move to the car. Not to worry... we have XM satellite radio in the car... that means that here too Ike has the luxury of the same 24 hour news/politic stations that we have on the t.v.. Last we get to our destination... what will he do? Again... not a problem. He quickly checks the web from his blackberry just to make sure he did not miss anything on the walk from the car. Does anyone feel my pain? Don't get me wrong... I am glad that he is taking an active role in the direction of our country and is concerned about certain things that are going on... but come on...enough is enough!
This is where the football comes in. I just may regret ever speaking these words... but I hope that his obsession with football will quickly take over his obsession with politics. I even said to him the other day..." I can't wait until football seasons starts"... (believe it!) At this point I am excited to watch a NFL game on t.v... He has already started playing NCAA Football on the XBOX 360... He is helping coach the local high school football team and is also coaching Avery this year in football. Then you throw in his fantasy leagues that he plays in and all the college and NFL games that he watches and I just might have a shot! So again... which is the lesser of two evils?... ask me at the end of football season.... ;)

These pics are of Ike coaching at a practice for the high school team. Colt and I decided that we would walk the track and watch... We made it around the track maybe 3 times...my excuse... it was probably 95 degrees! I then let Colt play on the grass until it was over. He was thrilled and loved playing with the football himself... like father like son, right.

I feel your pain as I live with my old man and he is the same way with the 24 hr. news channels and although it is nice to be informed...enough is enough!!
Now let's just talk about those SUPER cute pics of my nephew....oh my!! I can't wait to put them on mom's screen saver and have her say, "oh cute, when did I get this?" :)
I think he is going to be just like daddy and big brother AJ...a sports fiend!!

Oh Lea good luck with the upcoming fall. I love football so I can't really say much. I have the countdown for Sept. 3 opening day for College football. Colt and the football picture took over the screen saver at the Haws house. How cute are those. We love you guys.

Oh man....football and hunting at our house. Brett's first game is thursday and everybody is soooooo excited. The men's brains at our house turn to mush in the fall because of the two of those events. It may not be news but it is espn, espn2, espnnews, sportscenter, nfl channel....i definitely feel your pain. P.S. I would choose football over politics anyday. Your little guys are so cute!!!!! I hope your pregnancy is going well for you

Politics, not so much in our house. I so don't mind football season. In our house it means that I get to go see a movie, go shopping, go to lunch, do whatever I want. Either Rob figures that since he's home watching TV I should take the advantage of the time and run all over Omaha or he feels guilty about watching football and encourages me to leave...so what ever the reason, just about every Sunday during football I get to get out of the house without my 2 girls.
