Yesterday was Eliot's Birthday... he turned 7! I am still trying to absorb it really. Time has flown by and it seems like he was just born yesterday...cliche' I know, but so true. I remember when he was born the first thing that I said was" oooh.... he is so cute!" Not a lot had changed... I still think that when I look at him. I think everyone does... not only does he have the cutest little face... he has the sweetest disposition. I am not sure that I know of a more sweet little boy. He also has a tender heart which is one of my favorite things about him. Example... we watch Ellen together everyday... she has her audience sing before her show, kind of like karaoke... then she plays the funniest performance... if you will... back on the show. It is all in good fun and everyone laughs including the "performer". Lately, she has been showing this middle-aged man fumbling the words to a song... with full vibrato even... I laugh every time I see it... but every time it comes on Eliot says "Oh Mom... I feel so bad for him, people are laughing at him". I explain that no one is making fun... but he does not believe me.The tears in his eyes lets me know this. You can't get any more tenderhearted than that. I love that he has this quality. I can only hope that it stays with him forever.
It makes me sad that he is getting bigger... soon he will not play with his "guys". (G.I. Joe's, etc.) If I get the chance I love to sit and watch him. He is so animated and will play for hours all by himself. The problem is that I have to be very sneaky to do this... if he catches you watching he stops. I wonder... how long do I have left before he is "too big" for his guys. I hope not soon...
My sweet Eliot also has some pretty impressive powers... luckily for us he uses these powers for good not evil! He somehow is able to get anything his heart desires from not only me but from Isaac. I would say that Isaac is even a bigger sucker than I am. All Eliot has to do is sit on Isaacs lap, snuggle up to him and ask in that little voice for something and sure enough Isaac will deliver. I am not sure how many times the boys have gone to the store and before they leave Eliot asks if when they are there could he get a guy? Isaac says " no... not this time" I chuckle to myself knowing that Isaacs strength is no match for Eliots! Sure enough... Eliot inevitably comes home with one more guy to add to the hundreds we already have.
I could go on and on... but I will spare you. I will just say that we adore this little boy and feel so blessed that he is in our family!
Happy Birthday Eliot... we love you!
Here are the pictures of the birthday boy celebrating. He woke in the morning to find a new bike from Isaac and I. He chose pizza for lunch ( no surprise there) and then chose bowling for his family party. And just in case you were worried... he got a new guy too. ;)

Happy Birthday Bubba Man!! Colee was saying it all day today and was so excited to finally get to talk to him on the phone.
What handsome men you have in your life Lea!! I can't wait to see you guys!!
we love you!
Hey Lea, remember me, your vegas friend? Your family is so cute!! I love reading your blog. Keep up the good work!! Janel
Hey Lea, I've been checking out your blog through Tonia's blog...she got me started blogging when she visited me in Feb and now I am hooked. Your boys are the cutest. Eliot is amazing...to only be 7-yrs old and to have such an awesome quality that many adults will never know. Isn't it weird how different our children can be, even though they are all raised by the same parents? I would say Morgan is my more loving, easy-going, kind child that is more ready and willing to share and play nice. I think Madisen is just too shy to show her tender heartedness...at least that's what I hope. Take care, Tammy
Happy Birthday to Eliot! We miss you guys like crazy.
I have to say out of all the blogs I read, yours is my favorite! You are a great writer, and I love your take on life and kids. I remember you, Lauren, and myself all pregnant at the same time. We all had boys. Coby will be 7 end of April.
